QualificationsUnder medical direction this position provides for
the implementation and coordination of Respiratory Care procedures
based upon the Policies and Procedures of the Respiratory Care
Department. In addition to the performance of all routine
respiratory procedures the Respiratory Practitioner will be
responsible for special procedures, within his/her scope of
practice, maintaining and improving clinical competence, practicing
universal precautions, maintaining and cleaning equipment, and
performing any other duties deemed necessary by the shift
supervisor. Also provides consultation, collaboration and education
to the medical staff, multi-disciplinary care team members, and
patients/families. Embrace and consistently demonstrate Swedish

Licensure/Certification/Registration: NBRC accredited RRT
credential or CRT if grandfathered inCurrent Colorado Respiratory
LicenseCurrent BLS, ACLS certifications through AHA or ARC
required.PALS preferred.NRP preferredB. Education: Graduate of AMA
accredited Respiratory Therapist ProgramC. Experience: 6 months
previous experienceD. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: During the first
year in the position, the employee will be cross trained to staff
the Intensive Care Units, the ED, the Multi-Trauma units, the
floors and provide special procedures. The employee must be able to
successfully demonstrate competence in staffing the Intensive Care
Units, the ED, the Multi-Trauma units, the floors and provide
special procedures by successfully meeting the standards outlined
in the Orientation Skills Inventory. Must possess and maintain
skills to be eligible for staffing in the Intensive Care Units, the
ER, the floors, and provide special procedures. Must display
effective written and verbal skills in order to communicate in a
clear, concise manner with physicians, staff, and patients. Must
possess assessment skills, knowledge of respiratory principles &
procedures to coordinate and implement appropriate Respiratory Care
to patients. Models the behaviors outlined in the Values and

Teamwork & Respect, Professionalism and Personal Responsibility
with all customers, peers and leadership at all times. HCA
