POSITION PURPOSE:

The Group Services team focuses on welcoming and facilitating successful group visits for students, youth, and adults. Group Programs Associates are responsible for coordinating the arrival of school and adult groups to the museum and provide student and youth visitors with joyful and transformative experiences during art-making workshops. Spanish language fluency preferred. This is a flex-time role (up to 30 - 39 hours per week) and requires occasional availability for weekend, evening, and holiday hours. This role is primarily operational and administrative and includes opportunities to support programming.



This position reports to the Assistant Manager of Group Services, Sales and Group Services department.



Group Reception


  • Utilize visitor service skills by checking in and assisting museum visitors in a friendly and approachable manner, assisting and addressing needs, concerns, and complaints to ensure an outstanding visitor experience
  • Act as a resource for questions relating to collections and museum programming
  • Coordinate onsite reception for all youth and adult group visitors, including orientation, collection of payment, and organization of tours
  • Serve as a role model for associates regarding customer service, compliance with procedures, and best practices
  • Provide orientation to groups ages ECE-12th grade




    Administrative


  • Process group reservation requests in the museum's ticketing system in a detailed and timely manner
  • Manage phone, email, and in-person communications with teachers and organizations relating to requests for field trips and guided tours
  • Make outbound confirmation calls to organizations and schools to confirm group and field trip reservations
  • Stock, prep, and inventory art supplies and materials for workshop spaces
  • Assist with special projects related to the department




    Program Support


  • Facilitate workshop classes for Early Childhood Education (ECE) through 12th grade audiences
  • Assist groups in gallery spaces when needed
  • Consistent usage of the Racial Equity Lens in day-to-day operations
  • Yearly goal setting to support Racial Equity Roadmap initiatives
    Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS



    KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY:


  • Excellent customer service skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers, teachers, and organization leaders
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate, and work effectively with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking fast-paced environment subject to frequent interruption
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills preferred
  • Dynamic; able and willing to be flexible if changes arise
  • Timely and accurate performance of the tasks required
  • Self-starter while having the ability to ask questions as needed
  • Spanish language fluency preferred




    EXPERIENCE:


  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Experience leading youth programming (ECE - 12th grade) preferred

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:


  • Will be called upon to stand or move around the museum campus for extended periods of time




    Position type: This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with .



    Pay: The hiring hourly range for the position is $19.00-$23.75 based on experience. A $0.50 language differential is available for hours worked for candidates who have Spanish speaking proficiency.
