Job Description:
DescriptionApogee has an exciting new opportunity for an
Equipment Specialist supporting the Strategic Warning and Space
Surveillance Directorate Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack
Characterization System (PARCS) mission. This role will be
instrumental in supporting Missile Warning, Missile Defense
(MW/MD), Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Command and Control (C2)
readiness, maintenance, and sustainability.
This is a full-time position on Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado
Springs, CO. Expect 50-75% telework as required by the workload
within the Colorado Springs area unless otherwise designated by the
government customer.

direct field support
- Apply Agile and/or Waterfall development methodologies to both
hardware and software projects
- Prepare or assist with the preparation of Time Compliance
Technical Orders (TCTOs) to support configuration changes and
inspections
- Guide development and updating of Technical Orders, including
Illustrated Parts List (IPL), Illustrated Parts Breakdown (IPB),
Theory of Operations, Troubleshooting Procedures, Remove and
Replacement Procedures, Wiring Diagrams, Schematics, and
format
- Assist and execute the sustainment of the Electronic Technical
Management System (ETIMS)
- Perform or assist in performing technical order (TO)
validation/verification (Val/Ver)
- Develop Work Unit Codes and populate the Reliability and
Maintainability Information System (REMIS)
- Provide input to the Technical Order Life Cycle Management Plan
(TOLCMP)
- Support execution of Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and
Engineering Review Board (ERB) directives by partnering with the
Technical Content Managers (TCM) to manage the publication and
distribution of TO changes
- Support Engineering Plans and Operational Safety, Suitability,
and Effectiveness (OSS&E) baselines by evaluating configuration
management tasks such as Discrepancy Reports (DRs), Recommended
Change (RC), AFTO-252, AFTO-27, and performance metrics
- Assist with the development of Technical Drawing Packages,
system-specific and standard, in support of configuration
management
- Support the configuration control function to include receipt,
dissemination, processing, tracking, and providing recommendations
for the final disposition of all baseline technical
artifacts
- Review change proposal management impacts, and compliance with
Government requirements; provide recommendations for Government
review and disposition; assist in the preparation and conduct of
CCB and related subordinate boards; and assist in maintaining
change proposal files and providing historical information
- Attend and support Functional Configuration Audits (FCA),
Physical Configuration Audits (PCA), and Compliance Audits (CAs),
including auditing hardware and software Configuration Items (CIs),
disposition and tracking of action items, and assist with the
preparation of the minutes
- Assist with technical interchange meetings and the preparation
of minutes from the meetings
- Monitor modification parts listings to identify items not
loaded in the National Stock Number (NSN) system
- Process non-stock listed items into the Defense Logistics
Agency (DLA) system.
- Monitor and process parts lists utilized under contractor
logistics support for provisioning and configuration management
planning and documentation
- Access system data within various sources/tools such as
Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) to assist in the
development of OSS&E reporting data and documentation
- Maintain Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) inventory lists
to include physical inventories
- Provide Product Lifecycle Management assistance through
technical documentation to mitigate Mission Impaired Capability
Awaiting Parts (MICAP) status
- Support Program Management Reviews (PMR) through analysis and
presentation of system metrics such as Reliability, Availability,
and Maintainability (RAM), Operational Availability (Ao),
Operational Dependability (Do), MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures),
and MTBCF (Mean Time Between Critical Failures)
Minimum Qualifications:
Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen
Clearance: Must have an active DoD Secret clearance
Education: AAS Degree
Years of experience: 14 years of maintenance/engineering experience
with Missile Warning/Defense/SDA radar systems
Preferred experience:
Education: BS degree in Logistics or STEM-related field of study
and 10+ years' experience as an Equipment Specialist with Missile
Warning/Defense/SDA radar systems; OR,
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and twelve (12) years of
experience in the respective technical discipline; including five
(5) years of DoD experience; OR,
- Master's in a related field and ten (10) years of experience in
the respective technical discipline; including five (5) years of
DoD experience
Additional experience: Experience as an Equipment Specialist
supporting Missile Warning/Defense/SDA radar systems
Experience with Joint Deficiency Reporting Systems (JDRS), Enhanced
Technical Information Management Systems (ETIMS), and Maintenance
Information Systems (such as Integrated Maintenance Data System
(IMDS)
Agile and Waterfall acquisition experience
Military leadership and management experience
Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally
Benefits & Compensation:
- Apogee offers two medical plans, a high deductible health plan

scheduled for twenty-four or more hours per work week are eligible
for benefits on a pro-rated basis.
- The base pay for this position is $80,000 to $120,000 across
the U.S. There is also a different range applicable for specific
work locations. Base pay is based on several factors and may vary
depending on job-related knowledge, experience, skills, abilities,
training, and education.
