Job Title: Product and Tool CAD Designer Department: Design
Reports To: President FLSA Status: Exempt Approved By: President
Job Summary: Ensures that engineering work conforms to high
technical and organization standards and meets or exceeds all
contract requirements. Ensures the producibility of designs and
products. Compiles and evaluates design and data to determine
adequacy of the product and the engineering effectiveness of the
results compared to requirements and specification. Ensures that
project plans and requirements from customers and other departments
will be satisfactorily achieved in time, cost, quality and
completeness. A high concentration level and attention to detail
are consequential qualifications for this position. He/she must
have an above average knowledge of drafting methods. Required to
document and maintain all pre-release and post-release projects.
Responsible for design and development of tooling and fixtures
required for manufacture. In addition, this person will provide
technical and estimating support to the President and others as
designated. Position may specialize in a particular area of product
design involving complex/technical design concepts or involving a
wide range of products requiring diversified knowledge. Has full
responsibility for accuracy of finished drawings and efficiency
under which drawings are produced. This position is responsible for
documenting and maintaining all pre-release projects. This person
is responsible for design and development of tooling and fixtures
required for manufacture. In addition, this person will provide
technical sales and estimating support for the sales department.
Minimum Requirements Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree
(B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years
related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Practical application of plastics
engineering science and technology inclusive of applying
principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and
production of thermoformed plastic goods. Intermediate Level - All
"Microsoft" applications (Word, Excel, and other programs as deemed
necessary to complete duties of job). Language Skills Ability to
read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to
respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative
techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive
speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to
top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts
such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and
permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such
tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability
and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques,
sampling theory, and factor analysis. Reasoning Ability Ability to
apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range
of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with
nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs,
musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal
with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Minimum Training
Requirements ISO 9001:2015, QS Standards, FSSC 22000, Food Safety,
Quality and Management System Policies Solid Works and Auto Cad
